On LOVING POWER, original Impressions Sam Gooden and Fred Cash united with newcomers Ralph Johnson and Reggie Torian and scored a pair of hits with "Loving Power" and "Sunshine" (the former reaching #11). IT'S ABOUT TIME saw a rejuvenation of the band. Nate Evans replaced former lead singer Ralph Johnson, and his voice brought an earthy quality to the band that had been lacking since Mayfield left the fold as an Impressions vocalist.
